Unofficial fan site for the one and only Jaime Pressley
Jaime’s been riding high lately, bringing on the laughs as white-trash ex-wife of Jason Lee on the hit comedy series “My Name Is Earl”, the latest in her string of successful redneck roles. Her strong, sultry features and perfect body though, have given her a well-rounded career, both on TV and in the movies, and through modelling.
Jaime Pressly was born in Kinston, North Carolina on July 30, 1977 to Brenda Sue (a dance instructor), and James Liston Pressly, Sr. As a child, Jaime spent 11 years studying dancing and gymnastics, making her a natural for some of the more action-oriented roles in her career.
Pressly went to school at the Costa Mesa High School in California, where her mother moved to while going though her divorce. By the time she was 14, Jaime Pressly was already a successful model, becoming a spokesperson for her modelling agency, and having numerous assignments in the USA, as well as Italy and Japan. When she was 15, she then filed for legal emancipation from her parents and succeeded in her petition for independence.
Her first movie was the straight-to-video sci-fi film “The Journey: Absolution” in 1997, with Mario Lopez and Richard Grieco. That casting alone should tell you enough about the quality of this B-movie. Pressly moved on to bigger B-movies after that though, like “Poison Ivy: The New Seduction”, the last in the trilogy for this R-rated franchise. Better roles in ensemble films followed, like “Can’t Hardly Wait”, “100 Girls”, and “Tomcats”. Jaime then landed the first of her well-received white-trash roles, in David Spade’s “Joe Dirt”.
Comedies and action movies followed followed, like “Torque”, “Not Another Teen Movie”, and the babe-fest “DOA: Dead or Alive”( based on the video game). Her last movie role is in this year’s big-budget “Horton Hears A Who”, where she voices one of the characters in this animated Jim Carrey vehicle.
It was in 2005 that she started on “My Name Is Earl”, which is still going strong, especially after their regular nominations and current wins at the Emmy Awards. Jaime was one of those who benefited from this show’s popularity and walked away with the prize for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series at the 2007 awards night.
Aside from her TV series and movie roles, Jaime Pressly also served as the 2001 spokesmodel for Liz Claiborne Cosmetics and its fragrance Lucky You, performed as a special guest with The Pussycat Dolls in 2004, and appeared in Playboy twice. Her first Playboy photoshoot was for the March 1998 issue, and she posed nude again for the February 2004 issue. Aside from appearing in Playboy, Jaime Pressly has been part of many Sexiest Women lists, for magazines like Stuff and FHM. She has her own sleepwear and ready-to-wear lingerie line, called J’Aime, which she launched in 2003.
Pressly has a son, Duzzi James Calvo, who was born on May 11, 2007. His father is her current main squeeze, DJ Eric Cubiche. He and Jaime have been engaged since 2006 but have not married yet.
